Test Conditions
Well the weather man was calling for winds out of the Southwest but the wind is blowing from the North and Northeast giving us the same test we had yesterday morning. It is easy to see by the dog work and No-Birds that the luck of running yesterday verses today has not given any dog an advantage over another.

RR: went over the 1st two mounds and out to the area made a couple passes and picked up the bird
No-Bird 66. Beadle's Turbo Nina “Nina” LF, Wayne Curtis
73. FC Catalina's Trumarc “Trudi” LF, Rob Erhardt

SR: went over the mound put up a hunt and Rob Handled to the bird.
No-Bird 71. FC-AFC Third Creek's Big Stick “Woody” LM, Paul Knutson
Flyer: No-Bird, the flyer hooked toward the gallery and the hen pheasant landed near the holding blinds of the competing dogs. Where the marshals surrounded the pheasant and grabbed it. Woody will go back six dogs.
Test Dog 5th Series Day 2
Test Dog this am was Hannah handled by Marshall Stone came to the line at 6:50 am to lead off the day 2 of the 5th series of the 2012 Nationals. NB on the test dog. One gun did not go off -- that is one of the jobs of a test dog -- help iron out any problems with mechanics.
At 6:53 am the test was shot for the test dog.
Flyer: was a perfect mark
SR: put up a small hunt. The Judges asked him to handle to expedite the test.
RR: line to the bird hitting all 3 mounds & Hannah did another perfect mark.
LR: took the line out to the left of the holding blind and curved back straight to the bird

| The sun rises behind us. |
Good Morning
Today we are finishing up the 5th Series of the National Open. The Judges have gotten a lot of answers out of this test. As many saw yesterday a slight wind and lighting conditions drastically changed the success rate for completing this excellent test. Today we stepped out the door to cool temps of 38 degrees calling for it to warm up to 67. The wind is currently out of the Southwest which puts it directly in our face for this mornings competitors. There is no telling what the dogs are going to do now. Stay tuned as the excitement continues and will bring us into the 6th Series this afternoon. Thanks for following. Enjoy!!!
Check out the link to the Fifth Series on the left side of the page to see the test description, photos, diagrams and video shot yesterday.

Workers' Party
We all gathered in Bill Barkley's Party Barn outside of Montgomery for an evening of camaraderie. As the sun set, the chill set in, but inside and out, this place was warm. There were good friends to talk to and socialize with under propane heaters in this magnificent party room and a bonfire outside to warm up you up. There were door prizes for all donated by our Sponsors and people arrived to receive a ticket and found the corresponding items they had won as prizes. The dinner was created by Phil's and the entertainment was provided by Doug Boggs and the Cowboy Jazz Band. Steve Carr thanked all of the Sponsors of the National Open including Chris Chantland, Kent Cartridge and Dogtra, as well as other Sponsors who were present to accept their awards including Warner Smith from Tritronics, Dean Reinke from Purina, David Carrington from Avery and Rick Dirmeyer from Eukanuba. Thank You to One and ALL! Please enjoy the following photos and videos....
